My name is Tami Elaine Prince. I am an artist and photographer outside of Boston. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Art and an Associates Degree in Graphic Design in 2001. I have been published nationally for my photography and writing in a variety of publications from Listen Magazine in 2006 for "Under The Makeup", Photo Techniques in 2002 for "Filtered Vision", Photo Techniques in 2000 for "Creative Double Exposures" and in Photographer's Forum Best of Photography Annual 2000. My latest project is not yet posted, but it will be a synergy of my self-portrait photography with my paintings. I am exploring taking the concept of self-portrait a step further by merging all of my techniques into a new showcase. I am currently working on some new articles as well as a book project. You can find my fan page on Facebook, Imagery by Tami Elaine, for regular updates.

I have been a photographer for as long as I can remember. I have learned a great deal about myself, and the world around me throughout this process. I chose double exposures and multiple prints early in my career because of its layered process. Each layer represents a part of me. One layer may explore my relationship with the outside world and the other a self-portrait. My photography exposed me and helped me open up. I would simply feel something and need to get it out of my system. Then each image grew into a world of emotions. Now I'm on a journey to help others connect with their emotions. My more recent projects have a similar feel, but the techniques will be created digitally. At this time all the photography on my site was done in the camera or darkroom. New portfolios will be posted soon.

I explored the world of painting upon graduating from college. I find that I best express myself through abstract paintings. I enjoy how emotional a piece can be without a subject being realistic. I love that each image changes its meaning from viewer to viewer. I paint mostly in acrylic, but am currently exploring mixed media.

My work has evolved from technique to subject matter as I have evolved emotionally. I promise my audience that I will continue to challenge myself creatively as an artist. I want your viewing experience to be an emotional journey of self. As I grow, I want each of you to share in my journey.
